This was a detour from our “blue line”. Sometimes you see a sign on the side of the road & can’t help being intrigued and seeing where it leads.
When the 34th President of the United States was born in 1890, the population of Denison, Texas was approximately 11,000.
This small town has grown in the last 100+ years, but even now has a population of 25,000.
Hometown Heroes come in all sizes, shapes and styles… but maybe we also need to remember that it doesn’t require a big city to make someone great. Sometimes a small town, where neighbors know one another, and the village pulls together in the toughest of times, can raise great leaders, or, as they put it, Legends.
