There is something magical about designing your own walking tour! The Flat Fellas sat down with their friend, Flat Jay, who boarded the ship in IJmuiden, Netherlands, and talked about what everyone wanted to see. Other friends joined us in the conversation, and suddenly an unofficial theme for our day was taking form.

The magic of the past and present.
The creativity and inspiration of women who thought outside the box. Mixed with a bit of simply seeing what this city with hundreds of years of history has to offer, and a desire to explore it together.

The Flat Fellas Set Off On Their Walking Adventure Following The Blue Line They Charted

Map in hand, and a plan in mind, the flat fellas and their friends set off with a few simple agreements in place.

If they saw something interesting nearby, the route could be adjusted and adapted.

Whoever’s step counter said we walked the furthest was right.

The goal was to see as much as we could, and have a fun, magical time, doing so.

Built in the 1840s, the Victorian Gothic Monument known as Scott Monument honors Scottish author Sir Walter Scott.

It is the second-largest monument to a writer in the world… and unlike anything else the Flat Fellas have seen.

Located by the Princes Street Gardens, this monument drew our group a few blocks further down the road than we intended to go… but how could we resist the urge to explore and discover what that amazing spire ahead was a part of.
