The flat fellas were reminded today that a somewhat plain building can have beautiful colors and eye-catching wonders within. The outside of the Municipal Cathedral was grand in terms of size, but it doesn’t have the sculptures and “look at me” appearance of others we have seen. Yet when we went inside, a simple space showcased impressive stained glass.

Fortaleza, Brazil
Walking around Fortaleza the flat fellas were aware they were in a big city. It has a population of 2.4 million people, closer to 4 million when the surrounding areas are included. Yet this city retains its beach culture, and local vibe. Portuguese is the language of Brazil, and of Fortaleza, with locals in many cases willing to try and help bridge the gap between languages… often through hand gestures, and other creative ways.
