As the ship made its way towards Rio the flat fellas alternated between seeing how the path of the ship gave them a different view of the Christ the Redeemer statue and looking at the birds that were flying around.
A flock of Brown Boobies were on the water along the channel we sailed in through — and the Magnificent Frigatebirds were in evidence throughout the day. The Magnificent Frigatebird is large enough the flat fellas could see them flying around the statue in the distance.
(Our photos might fill the frame with the statue, but we didn’t actually get to go close to it, instead it was thanks to 125x zoom that we were able to see so much.)
