We realized early in our walk around the park that “active at night” isn’t the same as “awake when we walk by.” Both leopards were napping when we visited, but WOW, we can’t imagine sleeping in a tree with our limbs dangling down around the branch!

One trail connected to the next, making it easy to walk the entire route through the park. We were excited to see both Indian Crested Porcupines and Malayan Crested Porcupines. The Malayan looked smaller to us—but there was no contest on smell! Both enclosures chased us away with their stink!

The Flat Friends were always aware there were more animals ahead, just waiting for us to visit.

As much as we wanted to stop for extended periods when something fascinated, intrigued, or simply delighted us, we had to keep moving.

We walked almost 4 miles in about 4 hours. Add the creatures of the night show—half an hour, and waiting for it to start (time we used to look over the map to get an idea of what all there was to see) and 5 hours flew by too fast!

We snapped quick photos along the final trail as we raced along, aware the park’s closing time was fast approaching.

Night Safari is a truly magical place where nature is even part of the bathrooms!
