A Little Easter Island Reading…

Rapa Nui (Easter Island) has captured the imagination of the Flat Friends, just like it has for millions of other people around the world.

Its remote location means we have sea days before our next port.

Sea days are proving to be a great time to find answers, and dig deeper into the history of the ports we are visiting.

WHO HQ’s “Where Is Easter Island?” got that title because it is part of the “Where Is?” series.

The Flat Friends were thrilled to discover the book was less about the geography (where) and more about the explorers who came to visit, how they impacted the island’s history, and what they learned from the inhabitants.

In other words, it was exactly the book they wanted to read! (Bonus discovery, Katherine Routledge started the work that Thor Heyerdahl moved forward!)
