Flat Hal Sailed the Beagle Channel!

Sailing the Beagle Channel was amazing. Some of the surrounding mountains reach over 3,000 feet, and here we were, looking up at them from sea level.

On our return to the city the Flat Friends decided to walk around before returning to the ship. In Ushuaia two monuments stood out as ways to get a feel for the people who call this place home.

One is a pole that says “May Peace Prevail On Earth” in two dozen languages. It reminded us of those sign posts that tell how far you go in which direction to get to what famous city.

The other was a memorial. None of us are fluent in Spanish, but we understood this memorial comes from a place of love (“te amo” is part of the inscription) and there is family and a friend involved (at the bottom we saw “Papa, Hijo, Hermano y Amigo”) perhaps that says who he was?
