Úlfseyjarsandur —Djupivogur’s Black Sand Beach

#flathal #flatstanley

Flat Hal and Flat Stanley had only one destination in mind as they set out walking in Djupivogur. The black sand beach!

Not only is the sand black (thanks to the lava rock and volcanoes on Iceland) this area is said to be home to lots of different species of birds. The flat fellas made sure we had the camera with powerful zoom lens with us, and plenty of batteries when we started our day.

It can be challenging to get photos that truly capture the color of the sand as we see it… but there were a variety of loose shells on the beach that we tried to use to help.

A mist hovered over the beach… with a chilly feel, and a spectral vibe, it created a cinematic atmosphere.
