The Flat Fellas Explored Trondheim…

Flat Hal and Flat Stanley were not surprised to see a statue of King v, who is connected to the founding of the city. After all, he is a King, and did many well known, great things.

Carl Adolf Dahl is not recorded in many international history books, but he too has a statue. He was instrumental in the development of Trondheim as a city. You don’t have to be world famous to get a statue! Improving the lives of your friends and neighbors is worth more than many realize as they are working in their community.

The statue of The Last Viking, honoring the fishermen, and inspired by a book, was a reminder that every profession contributes to the community. And a true community celebrates all of its members.

Sunset After Trondheim…

We started taking pictures just before 9:30 pm

The Captain had announced earlier this might be our last night with a true sunset and full darkness for a few days, so the flat fellas decided to stay up as late as they could, and see how dark it got.

Approaching The Arctic Circle

After midnight there was still light in the sky, and we had not yet crossed the Arctic Circle! The Captain announced at noon the next day that we had crossed the Arctic Circle at 9 am.

Over the course of 4.5 hours the colors shifted and changed in the sky, putting on a fabulous show!

The Arctic Circle is at 66°33′50.4″ N, we saw this sunset as we sailed towards it from Trondheim at 63°25′49.8″ N
