Cadiz is a beautiful beach community of over 100,000 people. Fun to walk around, Cadiz has the same peaceful vibe and relaxed/comfortable and inviting feel/culture as the flat fellas found in Arrecife. Cadiz offered a chance to enjoy fantastic weather and marvel at incredible buildings Like the golden-domed cathedral.

Flat Hal and Flat Stanley Hopped On And Off In Cadiz, Spain

Hop On Hop Off busses can be a fun way to see a city you have never been to before. The flat fellas rode the entire one and a half hour route once, taking pictures from the open air top deck. Then they rode it again, hopping off at a beach with two forts. (Castle of San Sebastián and the Castle of Santa Catalina)

Aspects of the city, the white buildings, and the waterfront lifestyle looked a lot like Arrecife in the Canary Islands. It can be interesting to see how places with common roots grow and evolve in different ways.

Walking Around Castillo de Santa Catalina, Cadiz, Spain

Inside Castillo de Santa Catalina Flat Hal and Flat Stanley saw the front of a mission that was so “typical” of Spanish architecture, whether it is in Spain, South America, or the United States, that they almost felt like they were walking in to a scene from a favorite movie! The building looked so familiar, even though they had never been here before.

The Ruddy Turnstone blended in with the beach beside the castle/fort, adding to the sense of discovery during their walk.

Wood Pigeons, Gulls and Sparrows occasionally appeared for photos also.
