It is when the rain comes that Cabo Verde “turns green”. During the dry months they rely on cisterns, desalination plants and water drawn up from 95-100 feet underground.
At the top of the mountain, where the clouds meet the land, we saw this interesting method for drawing water from the clouds. The nets gather the water, then the pipes funnel it into cisterns for irrigation.
