The Flat Fellas Sailed By A Floating Village!

Sailing the Rio Negro towards the Amazon we passed a floating village some of our fellow passengers visited during our time in Manaus.

Those passengers came back with stories of a school boat, floating houses, smaller rivers for roads… a different way of life than Flat Hal and Flat Stanley are accustomed to.

Beautiful scenery as we started our first day sailing East on the Amazon

The Flat Fellas are learning something new each day they spend on the Amazon River

There is a blue line on the map of the Amazon on River showing our path from where we entered, sailing a winding westward path to Manaus, and now making out way east back towards the Atlantic Ocean. (The little yellow ship icon on the map shows where we were when the flat fellas sat down to work on this journal entry.)

Along the river we have seen a variety of sizes and types of boats, as well as types of houses. Looking out the windows while we sail is very entertaining… what the flat fellas haven’t had a chance to see if a pink dolphin, but we still have another day or two to look.
