Passengers Enjoyed The Moment While The Bridge Planned Ahead

#flathal #flatstanley

While the flat fellas and our fellow passengers were enjoying our time in Reykjavik the bridge crew was monitoring the weather and seas between us and our next port, in Greenland.

The first decision they made, and announced, was to extend our time in port by 12 hours, allowing a weather front to hopefully pass us by.

Next came the announcement that there was not just ice reported along our planned route, but so much ice it was visible to satellites! It could be seen from space!

Safety first is the motto at sea. The Captain ultimately announced a plan to put 30 miles between us and where the ice was seen… unfortunately ice isn’t predictable. Fortunately we have a diligent bridge crew keeping watch! The ice moved into our new path, so we turned south, and sailed to safety!
