After walking over seven miles in Reykjavik the first day we returned to the ship where some fellow passengers asked what Flat Hal and Flat Stanley had spent the day doing and seeing.

It was a deceptively hard question to answer. All those miles covered, so much fun had… but what to list? How to explain it so others would understand?

We rode the hop on hop off bus a full circuit around town. Marveled at the mix of creative buildings and churches… and popped into a few grocery stores in search of some gluten free snacks for Flat Jay.

A Stop At Höfði House

Flat Hal And Flat Stanley were simply looking for a convenient stop to get back on the hop on hop off bus at when they realized they were at Höfði House. It is nicknamed by many the Reagan/Gorbachev house as this is where they met for very important talks that made noteworthy progress towards ending the Cold War.

Over the decades Russia and the United States have had a complex relationship . Allies in World War Two, they found themselves on different sides afterward.

With the increasing fear of the spread of communism (known as the domino theory), a war of ideals broke out between the two nations.
