This beautiful sunrise owes some thanks to particles in the air. At first glance it seemed like it was a hazy day, and something that appeared to be smoke occasionally came in on the wind. Later we heard dust from the Sahara was definitely in the air.
There were times it was hard to take pictures and get the camera to focus. We later realized that was, in part, because of the particles in the air.
Just like the particles were scattering the sunlight at sunrise, they continued throughout the day to affect how we saw things.
